E-MAIL DEBATE

To all my lovely Family & Friends,

I am still in debate with two companies.
Roadrunner and DUL (the company that blocks e-mail)
Both want the other to solve the problem with my e-mail.
RR, however says since I can access my e-mail on their boring webmail
my other problems basically aren't theirs. The last tech did say it nicely ha.
I have spent hours on the phone with them.
The DUL co. has sent me e-mails that I have no idea what they mean. The last one he did put it in more layman's terms.
So bottom line you can still e-mail at
classyskm@roadrunner.com and I am still receiving mail at
smills88@roadrunner.com even tho I prefer the first.
I still have all my other address including
classyskm@yahoo.com
So for now I will be sending boring e-emails but the love is still there.

My Spring Vacation

I had a great vacation in Tennessee. I spent it with my sister, Carol.
Rick took me down and came back and got me.
He stayed for the Sunday service and Dinner. It was nice.

Carol & I ate at Ruby Tuesdays twice. Their salad bar is really good.

(above)
This was Moz cheese balls with cherry tomatoes and basil. Also a broccoli and chicken quiche.
Ate at two Mexican restaurants.
One wasn't good at all. I guess the main people were gone for a wedding..could we ever tell :-)

(above)
We ate at a French Restaurant and an Italian restaurant.
I had Lasagna and Carol had a crab pasta. It was both good. Also bread dipped in olive oil and spices.
We shopped alot.
When I say 'alot' our running has slowed way down.
She usually worked an hour or two in her office and I read, sat on the porch, laid in the massage chair etc. Then we would go eat and shop, then come home and get our comfys on.

The Lyons Family came down for the last Sunday and sang..we had so much fun.
Then we had an issue with the key for the Nazarene fellowship Hall and everyone had to come to Carol's to eat.
It was crowded but a lot of fun.

I would say my bi-yearly vacation was a smashing success.

Abbie

For me not liking cats, this one sure is attached.
She has been sleeping in my room all day.
When I'm on the computer, she walks all over the desk,
sniffing my stuff, rolling the pen, trying to get in my pills.

She is so sweet.
I guess when it says "Old dogs can't learn new tricks"
I sure have changed when it comes to cats when
I'm around Abbie.

Enjoying my flower

May 05, 2008

Last Fall I trimmed my Lilac bush way down.
When it started budding this Spring I was so excited.
But the buds were the leaves.
Then I remembered when my neighbor had hers trimmed
it didn't produce flowers the next year.
That was a disappointment thinking I wouldn't have beautiful
flowers with such wonderful scent.
I saw one brown looking flower the other day. I kept watching it
and sure enough it matured and got beautiful and smells
so good.
How wonderful is that! You don't think you are getting any
and God gives you one.
I am enjoying it.

What a busy day!!

Got up at 4:30 and got ready for work.
Got to work at 6:10.
Opened the Toddler room and at 6:45 opened the baby room.
Didn't get any babies until 7:20 (Boss' grandson).
(very unususal).

Jadon & Grandma, Karen
(don't you love that cord hanging down :-(
{we have a tall baby that can reach it and pull that lose and I forgot to fix it}
Then at 8:00 they started coming. So the break was nice while it
lasted because it was downhill from there.

One little girl was happy watching baby videos (we do that one day a week)
Then my co worker combed her hair and she screamed.
She hates it in the play area and she screamed. She moves to the Toddler room
next month so they will have their hands full.
Her parents baby her and carry her around.
Other babies didn't feel well and fussed, one wouldn't go to sleep in the Toddler room so they brought her back to us, had a 6 wk baby that isn't used to the noise yet..on and on.
(I do love my job :-)

Then Jason called and wanted me to meet him for lunch (as
I was eating tuna/ noodles and peas at work)
I first said no thank you, because Barbara and the girls were coming over.
She needed to print something out.
He called her and called me back and said they would come too.

So I ran to Krogers at 12:30 and met them at Chinese. (a little after 1:00) {second luncheon I was a little late for this week}
I got a Diet Pepsi and held Hadessah while they ate.

Then I ran to another store and got milk and came home.

Barbara & the girls were here.
Jim & Julie were here getting ready to clean fish they had just caught.
I played with the girls:

Julie and the boys were in and out.
Julie fried the fish and brought it down..Was it ever good!
Everyone left by 7:30 and I am tired.
A very nice day.
Two things still trouble me though.
One, I thought about my Mom in the nursing home and I should have stopped
to see her.
Second, my sister wrote and suggested I might call the doc about Dad's blood pressure.
Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Think I will worry about it then.
Love, Scarlet

I HAD A DREAM...

I HAD A DREAM...last night that I knew the exact date the Lord was coming back.
The excitement was so real.
I felt so clean and so ready for Him to come.
I was somehow in an elevator and going to my parents apt (which isn't where they live ha)
but I was going there to wait for the exact moment.
My Aunt Mary was asleep and I wondered "HOW CAN YOU SLEEP?" (no reflection
on her, it was a dream :-)
What an eye opener!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The other day when I saw all the flooding in MO on the news I was thinking of
other signs, how plain does God have to be in warning us of His return.
As the real time draws closer I want the view of this world to draw dim.
GOD SAVE MY FAMILY! is my prayer.
Why is God silent?
What do you expect of God during trials and tests?
Did you ever think about when you were in
school and taking a test?
What does the teacher do?
What does he say?
NOTHING..
If you are wondering why God is silent during the
test that's what most teachers do.
Interesting huh?
Sweet
Today (biggest snow of the winter) Jimmy looked out the front door at all the snow.
He said we are snowed in when he couldn't get the door completely opened.
I said "you are snowed in at grandma's".
He said, "A dream come true"
I thought that was so sweet.
PS the pic is Easter, 2007.
ARE YOU RUNNING BACK ON THE FIELD?
Do you ever get discouraged and feel overwhelmed?
Does it feel that you don't have enough time for everything?
Have you failed and feel like it's no use?
That is the Devil having his way.
God wants us to speak truth and positive words.
Even as a football player misses a play and wants to quit,
God wants us to get back on the field.
He has great things for us.
The devil sees to it that we keep busy, yes it is important things.
But we must seek strength and wisdom from God.
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matt 11:28
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and
not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his
pasture.
Learning Everyday
WOW ~ this kind of hit me this morning. When I think about the word 'prejudice' I mostly think of color. But it can mean against anything. Jesus chose his disciples from all ranks of people.
I pray that I am more accepting of people that are different than me in more than color.
KEY THOUGHT:
People in God's family have names, histories, and futures. They are
different in their interests and their vocations. Yet they all have one
thing in common: Jesus! Let's not limit our expectations or dreams for
people in the Kingdom of God because of their pasts, their names, their
occupations, or their reputations. Let's trust that Jesus can and will
use anyone who fully yields his or her life to his purposes.
TODAY'S PRAYER:
Father, forgive me for the sin of prejudice. Open my heart to see that
you want all kinds of different people in your family so that others
can be touched by what they see and so that your Church can be fully
energized with all the various kinds of people you have created.
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
When it Rains it Pours
What a stressful week!
Several projects going on.
One, my car has had three major problems for a long time.
I looked at a couple cars at a lot (where Jason has pull :-)
but didn't know if I wanted the payment. (my car overheating
while I sat there)
This was about three weeks ago. Finally I got
tired of pouring Antifreeze in and called our mechanic/friend,
Dick McClinsey. He has his own shop. He put a new water pump on it.
Wow, I had heat!
I had broken the turn signal off a couple years ago
and had to stick my finger in a hole to use them.
I made an appt for Thursday for my brakes, but they
went out on Tuesday.
I got the car in on Tuesday. I rearranged my work schedule
and told him he could keep it on Wed. too.
He accessed the problems.
He had a wrecked car where he could put the whole steering column on
instead of ordering a turn signal. He also remembered that car
had a new Master Cylinder put on before it wrecked. So that saved me money.
So for what I would have put down on a different car I put into
mine and it feels like a new car. I love it!! God was in control.
Another situation I wanted to get a new bedroom suit and redo our bedroom..
Fortunately, one of my friends had a three piece chest/desk set, solid wood (Maple)
which matches a piece in my room. I am getting a new bed. So I have been cleaning, getting rid of etc. The hardest part was to get Rick to part with an
antique dresser my cousin had given him and a gun rack he made when
he was young. I htink the maple antique outfit helped. :-)
But my living room is piled up with things I'm not sure yet if I am using.
Rick has his cold back. Oh my word..the world stops except for work.
Next year he is getting a flu shot.
I have five accounts on my Nextel line. The other four wanted to upgrade
this week which is fine. But craziness set in and it still isn't solved.
I need a new phone but because I odered one last Fall and sent it back
because I needed the 2-way I can't upgrade til Aug. I can pay
the full price however. So once again I decided to play it smart (or pray ha).
Last night I ordered a new battery for mine, which should
take care of the problems.
My head and neck have hurt all week. I discovered I was playing to much MahJong
on the computer ha. A game that relaxes me but hurts my arm and neck.
I think I am looking forward to Monday, A NEW WEEK!.
Memories
Great-Grandpa Pfeiffer & Grandma Burroughs
When Jason was 2 or 3 months old he had a
very cute outfit (for the 70's ha)
It came with a hat which made it really stylish :-)
You know how it is with some outfits
you want to save them and pass them down.
35 years is a bit dated for an outfit :-)
So I gave it to Hannah for her babies.
She has reached the age of not only undressing
all her babies and leaving them, she is dressing
them now and I love it.
I didn't have a daughter and it is so much fun to
watch her as she grows and matures.
Today's Prayer
TODAY'S PRAYER:
Father God, the Almighty who knows me better
than I know myself, please help me come to a better
understanding of my mission in life. Help me as I
make the choices and commitments of each day.
I want to do what you have called me to do and
not just what I feel compelled by urgency to do.
May my life bring you glory and may I fulfill
your purpose for me. In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen.
Do you ever feel silly?
Do you ever feel silly some days and say
something that didn't make sense?
One time when I worked at Olan Mills Photography
to cover a week vacation for a friend I worked in the
telephone ad dept.
I would have to identify who I was and the company and then
proceed with the sales pitch.
So with my last name being Mills, I would say "Hello, this is Sharon Mills
calling from Olan Mills"... well that got too confusing. So I dropped
my last name and all was good.
Til years later I was thinking about it and thought.I should have said,
"Hello, this is Sharon Mills calling for Olan Mills, my dad has some really
good bargains today."
Isn't it crazy how some things can be so funny for you and of course no
one else. Had to be there kind of thing.
Well it happened to me again last week. My mom had given me this
really neat turtle that belong to my grandma. I didn't know whose it was,
I just like turtles. I had one for a pet when I was a kid.
So when I came in the other day I took my watch off and laid it
on the turtle. I said, "Now that porpoise has a purpose".
And I had to chuckle a little.
But I looked it up and turtles aren't porpoises ha.
I had been talking to my aunt about people having a purpose.
Anyway it was one of those moments that was funny to me.
A few years ago God and I came to an understanding about my
"sense of humor"
HE MADE ME; HE LIKES IT; AND I'M HAPPY.
Mom in the Nursing Home
Aunt Mary (below)
@ the nursing home
Here's some pics I took at the nursing home today.
She didn't want me to take it because her hair wasn't combed.
Dad has to make an appt to get her hair washed and nails worked on..Mom has such pretty nails and I think she will like someone to file them and take care of them.
May as well get pampered.
Mary and I went to visit. Dad came as we were leaving.
It was time for her therapy.
Is Family Important?
Anyone that knows me will tell you that family is important to me.
The good, the bad and the ugly.
I have seen it all :-)
Should it be important to all people?
I say, "Yes!".
Why are people out saving the world when they have lonely family & unsaved family.
Sure our needs must be met through other relationships.
But God wants us to be faithful to our own also.
Our Pastor said a week or two ago that if we knew the Lord was coming
back today what would we do.
Immediately, I thought of my unsaved loved ones. I should go right to their doors and
beg them to get saved.
Would they listen? Probably not, but we must be faithful.
What about lonely family? Grandmas and Grandpas who have been forgotten.
(Aunts and Uncles)
Even Christian family needs encouraged.
Let's make 2008 the year to touch base with our families.
Even preachers have been known to save the world and their families go to Hell.
Let's pray and see how high God wants us to put our family on our priority lists.
1.11.08 (Friday)
Today is the day we take Mom to the Nursing Home.
Even though God has worked out every detail and
I know it is His perfect will it has been one of the
hardest things I've ever had to do.
I have always teased that when they get old that's
where they will go.
I realize now that it isn't a joking matter.
The sad part about it is that Mom isn't old. She is young at heart
but can't walk.
I think what hurts me the most is
that Mom and Dad being married almost sixty years
has to face this.
They are truly a love story. Different ones have always
joked that Dad is the only man that we know that would
be a full time caregiver.
But I don't think it is far from the truth.
May God bless and watch over both of them as the go through
this next Season of their life.
M.I.C.K.E.Y. M.O.U.S.E
OK it really wasn't Mickey :-)
Last week I thought I saw a mouse in my bedroom..it was more like a streak. But I saw the streak twice. Which made me think it really was a mouse.
Barb happened to be here and she put Decon in there for me.
Saturday Rick and I were suppose to work in the bedroom so I could make sure there wasn't one in there.
Well we didn't.
Tonight, Sunday, I was in the kitchen cutting up an orange for Hannah when Molly came running in. I looked and she was chasing a mouse. I have never seen her do this before.
The mouse looked like it was on drugs..wasn't moving fast at all. (full of Decon I guess)
BUT I screamed and told Jason & Rick to go in and kill it. Rick was holding the baby and so Jason ran in there (even tho I knew he wasn't going to kill a mouse).
Finally, I grabbed Hannah and held her and screamed for Rick to get in the kitchen. Barbara took the baby.
It sounded like they were killing a lion in there.
Hannah & I were in chairs with our feet up.
After it was all said and done, Hannah had so many stories to tell. Once she was home alone (mommy & daddy were at the Mall ha) and she had to kill a mouse. Then it was spiders.
She told stories all the way to the car.
I know one bed that will hold four people in it tonight haha.
