Everything is Wonderful

My face in the mirror
Isn't wrinkled or drawn.
My house isn't dirty,
The cobwebs are gone.

My garden looks lovely
And so does my lawn.
I think I might never
Put my glasses back on.

Going down Memory Lane.

This pic was taken last Fall when we took
Mom away from the Nursing Home for the day.
We ate at a Mex Restaurant, then went to her

and Dad's apt ..She got to spend a little time
at home. He has since moved and we plan to
take her to the new place.
That is Mom's two sisters (by me Judy then Mary).
In years past we would all go out and eat each week.
Also included was my Grandma (before she passed).
Occasionally, Mom's two brothers and wives

would join us. But we were the core of the group.
This started years ago when my Aunts did things

with me and I would stay at their place.

Now, it is my two Aunts and me eating out each
week, back to the original group.
Funny how life turns out. We don't know what

it holds and I personally don't want too. God is in
control of that!
Besides God, my family is the most important

thing in my life.

ASK ANYONE :-)

She loves the swing outside hanging from

a tree. Hannah loves to push her.

What a day!

FOUR OF MY TODDLERS/INFANTS

I knew today (Monday) would be stressful.
I gave my notice at work a month ago and this is my last week.
I figured we would have twelve babies at work today, so I knew it
would be hard.
Part of the reason I gave my notice is I am having issues with
my back. Thus being the reason I dreaded today.
I whispered a couple prayers last week for help.

I started to work this morning (6AM) and my brakes were going
to the floor. Half way there I had no brakes at all.
I would coast to the light and wait where I stopped until the
light changed.
Needless to say by the time I got to work my nerves were shot.
I headed straight to the restroom :-)
I called Julie and she said Jim would come to look at it when he got off
work that morning.
I called Jason to borrow a vehicle and he showed up at work at 7AM
and handed me a key and took my car to the Dealership where
he works.

I HAVE THE BEST KIDS!!

I have had three Master Cylinders put on but the problem
today was different.

Back to work I had seven babies by 7:30 by myself
(including two sets of twins).
Then 8:00 my help came and we ended up with 11 babies.
I made it through and look forward to Tuesday because
I have Wed. off :-)

THURSDAY IS MY LAST DAY!

I have worked at Amerikid, off and on for 22 yrs.
I will miss my friends and will visit them.

Growing up!

Hannah has learned to ride a bike this summer.

Oh yes, it has training wheels on it.

She got it for her birthday from Mom & Dad.

She is like her Mom, no challenge to big :-)

And our 'baby' is starting to walk this week!

She's too young for that. I don't want her to grow up.

She is so sweet and cuddlely. (ok I looked up the word

and it isn't one, Grandmas can make up words ha)

Hadessah will be "ONE" Oct 3rd WOW.

Law of the Garbage Truck

Law of the Garbage Truck

One day, I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.

We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us.

My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy.

And I mean, he was really friendly.

So I asked, 'Why did you just do that?

This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!

' This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call,

'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks.

They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment.

As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you.

Don't take it personally.

Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on.

Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets. The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so...

Love the people who treat you right.

Pray for the ones who don't.

Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

Have a blessed, garbage-free day.

SUMMER

Wow Garden time.

Last night we had a storm and all the corn was laying flat.
Jim, Julie and Rick have a garden down to Jim's.
They put a lot of work and love in it.
I had a tomato from it tonight with supper.
The pic is of Jimmy and Hannah eating fried Zucchini
from a neighbor's garden.
Jim had to go to work so Julie and Rick tied up the corn and fixed it.
Hmmmm dripping juices running down my chin.
You watch me at your own risk ha.

2008 Party and Family Reunion

We had an 80th Birthday Party for Dad and also celebrated Mom's 79th.

It was a wonderful family reunion (which we hope to do of some kind every year.)

We hadn't all gotten together in six years.

We laughed alot and really enjoyed it.

Let Freedom Ring

When we let freedom ring ... when we let it ring from every
village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we
will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children:
black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and
Catholics will be able to join hands and sing in the words of
the old Negro spiritual, Free at last, free at last. Thank God
almighty, we are free at last.

Where are all the FLAGS?

Didn't we have a war start a few years back,

beginning with someone attacking America?
Flags went up all over.
It was nice to see and comforting to know that

we all were going back to supporting our country.
We have already had Memorial Day and

June 14th is Flag Day, not to mention July 4th, and Veteran's Day.
Let's get our flags back out and support our country

and be proud to be an American.

Mom~Nursing Home

Mom has been working real hard in therapy lately.
She has two amazing Therapists.
They have very good people skills and are pretty strict.
She has been doing the Occupational therapy which she likes.
They play ball, play games and have a good time.
When I got there today they had taken her to Physical Therapy.
She was at the two bars. Dad said she had taken two steps on her own.
Then after they worked with her on the bar he put a table up to her and brought
her a pile of laundry that needed folded. Some of it was turned inside out.
Of course she didn't want to do it..(her hands were shaking, she always gets nervous during therapy)
She didn't want to fold them but started slowly. It was taking her quite a while and I told them that she had always been very picking about her laundry.
She eventually got the whole pile done and a good job. She told John (one of the therapist that he owed her $5.00 for folding his laundry ha.)
After therapy we went across the hall to Happy Hour. They were doing Karaoke. They were old country songs. I knew most of the words.
They gave them a little cup of Sparkling grape Juice.
They have a piano in there and she said that on Thursday John had taken her in there and wanted her to play the piano. She played a little then he played a song.
Dad was ready to go back to the room.
I worked on her nails then.
She seems to be doing pretty good. (unless someone calls and she can get sympathy from them ha.)
She will ask Dad to help her occasionally during therapy but he just sits there. She is having to adjust and work without Dad.
Dad seems tired. But he is encouraged with Mom's progress. He told her he was proud of her for taking two steps.
Best two parents anyone could ever ask for, they are so precious to me.

E-MAIL DEBATE

To all my lovely Family & Friends,

I am still in debate with two companies.
Roadrunner and DUL (the company that blocks e-mail)
Both want the other to solve the problem with my e-mail.
RR, however says since I can access my e-mail on their boring webmail
my other problems basically aren't theirs. The last tech did say it nicely ha.
I have spent hours on the phone with them.
The DUL co. has sent me e-mails that I have no idea what they mean. The last one he did put it in more layman's terms.
So bottom line you can still e-mail at
classyskm@roadrunner.com and I am still receiving mail at
smills88@roadrunner.com even tho I prefer the first.
I still have all my other address including
classyskm@yahoo.com
So for now I will be sending boring e-emails but the love is still there.

My Spring Vacation

I had a great vacation in Tennessee. I spent it with my sister, Carol.
Rick took me down and came back and got me.
He stayed for the Sunday service and Dinner. It was nice.

Carol & I ate at Ruby Tuesdays twice. Their salad bar is really good.

(above)
This was Moz cheese balls with cherry tomatoes and basil. Also a broccoli and chicken quiche.
Ate at two Mexican restaurants.
One wasn't good at all. I guess the main people were gone for a wedding..could we ever tell :-)

(above)
We ate at a French Restaurant and an Italian restaurant.
I had Lasagna and Carol had a crab pasta. It was both good. Also bread dipped in olive oil and spices.
We shopped alot.
When I say 'alot' our running has slowed way down.
She usually worked an hour or two in her office and I read, sat on the porch, laid in the massage chair etc. Then we would go eat and shop, then come home and get our comfys on.

The Lyons Family came down for the last Sunday and sang..we had so much fun.
Then we had an issue with the key for the Nazarene fellowship Hall and everyone had to come to Carol's to eat.
It was crowded but a lot of fun.

I would say my bi-yearly vacation was a smashing success.

Abbie

For me not liking cats, this one sure is attached.
She has been sleeping in my room all day.
When I'm on the computer, she walks all over the desk,
sniffing my stuff, rolling the pen, trying to get in my pills.

She is so sweet.
I guess when it says "Old dogs can't learn new tricks"
I sure have changed when it comes to cats when
I'm around Abbie.

Enjoying my flower

May 05, 2008

Last Fall I trimmed my Lilac bush way down.
When it started budding this Spring I was so excited.
But the buds were the leaves.
Then I remembered when my neighbor had hers trimmed
it didn't produce flowers the next year.
That was a disappointment thinking I wouldn't have beautiful
flowers with such wonderful scent.
I saw one brown looking flower the other day. I kept watching it
and sure enough it matured and got beautiful and smells
so good.
How wonderful is that! You don't think you are getting any
and God gives you one.
I am enjoying it.

What a busy day!!

Got up at 4:30 and got ready for work.
Got to work at 6:10.
Opened the Toddler room and at 6:45 opened the baby room.
Didn't get any babies until 7:20 (Boss' grandson).
(very unususal).

Jadon & Grandma, Karen
(don't you love that cord hanging down :-(
{we have a tall baby that can reach it and pull that lose and I forgot to fix it}
Then at 8:00 they started coming. So the break was nice while it
lasted because it was downhill from there.

One little girl was happy watching baby videos (we do that one day a week)
Then my co worker combed her hair and she screamed.
She hates it in the play area and she screamed. She moves to the Toddler room
next month so they will have their hands full.
Her parents baby her and carry her around.
Other babies didn't feel well and fussed, one wouldn't go to sleep in the Toddler room so they brought her back to us, had a 6 wk baby that isn't used to the noise yet..on and on.
(I do love my job :-)

Then Jason called and wanted me to meet him for lunch (as
I was eating tuna/ noodles and peas at work)
I first said no thank you, because Barbara and the girls were coming over.
She needed to print something out.
He called her and called me back and said they would come too.

So I ran to Krogers at 12:30 and met them at Chinese. (a little after 1:00) {second luncheon I was a little late for this week}
I got a Diet Pepsi and held Hadessah while they ate.

Then I ran to another store and got milk and came home.

Barbara & the girls were here.
Jim & Julie were here getting ready to clean fish they had just caught.
I played with the girls:

Julie and the boys were in and out.
Julie fried the fish and brought it down..Was it ever good!
Everyone left by 7:30 and I am tired.
A very nice day.
Two things still trouble me though.
One, I thought about my Mom in the nursing home and I should have stopped
to see her.
Second, my sister wrote and suggested I might call the doc about Dad's blood pressure.
Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Think I will worry about it then.
Love, Scarlet

I HAD A DREAM...

I HAD A DREAM...last night that I knew the exact date the Lord was coming back.
The excitement was so real.
I felt so clean and so ready for Him to come.
I was somehow in an elevator and going to my parents apt (which isn't where they live ha)
but I was going there to wait for the exact moment.
My Aunt Mary was asleep and I wondered "HOW CAN YOU SLEEP?" (no reflection
on her, it was a dream :-)
What an eye opener!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The other day when I saw all the flooding in MO on the news I was thinking of
other signs, how plain does God have to be in warning us of His return.
As the real time draws closer I want the view of this world to draw dim.
GOD SAVE MY FAMILY! is my prayer.
Why is God silent?
What do you expect of God during trials and tests?
Did you ever think about when you were in
school and taking a test?
What does the teacher do?
What does he say?
NOTHING..
If you are wondering why God is silent during the
test that's what most teachers do.
Interesting huh?
Sweet
Today (biggest snow of the winter) Jimmy looked out the front door at all the snow.
He said we are snowed in when he couldn't get the door completely opened.
I said "you are snowed in at grandma's".
He said, "A dream come true"
I thought that was so sweet.
PS the pic is Easter, 2007.
